Amazon releases its blockchain template that allows Ethereum [ETH] mining

Amazon Web Servers [AWS] has introduced their blockchain template for Ethereum and Hyperledger fabric. The templates allow users to create and launch secure blockchain network using open source frameworks in a fast and easy way.

It enables users to focus on building a blockchain rather than manually setting up the blockchain network that consumes a lot of time and energy. With the help of AWS CloudFormation Templates, users can launch Ethereum {public or private} and Hyperledger {private} fabric frameworks.

The templates deploy the framework as containers on Amazon Elastic Container Service [ECS] cluster or directly on an EC2 instance running Docker. The template allows users to use their own VPC subnets and network access control lists as the blockchain network will be created on the Amazon VPC.

AWS Ethereum template has two deploy options, ECS and Docker-local. The ECS generates cluster within the VPC, thereby deploying the Docker images. The Docker-local also runs within a VPC but launches the Docker images on EC2 instances.

In addition, the template has a set of nodes that implement and responds to the RPC protocol. It also supports the EthExplorer and EthStats status page and Ethereum mining.

Julien Bouteloup, a Blockchain Dev and an Entrepreneur says:

“holy shit !  Amazon has just launched Blockchain Templates which let you launch an Ethereum (either public or private) or Hyperledger Fabric (private) network in a matter of minutes and with just a few clicks.”

Brad Mills, a Bitcoin maximalist and altcoin connoisseur says:

“Companies, developers, basically anyone who would rather run a private or public chain of their own. You can also use it to mine Ether. Not sure if it would be a good financial decision though.”
