The United States Department of Justice (DoJ) convicted two Romanians for indulging in cryptojacking. Bogdan Nicolescu, 36, and Radu Miclaus, 37, were charged of infecting and controlling more than 400,000 victims’ individual computers, primarily in the U.S., with malware to steal millions of dollars.

Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ To Launch Cryptocurrency MUFG Coin By Year End

Japan’s Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group or MUFG is preparing to put its own cryptocurrency, called MUFG Coin, into practical use by the end of this year. MUFG Coin is designed to offer currency functionality, especially for retail purchases. With the practical implementation of the earlier announced coin, users will be able to use the currency to make payments at places like restaurants, convenience stores and other shops.

Samsung SDS, Tech Mahindra To Collaborate On Nexledger Blockchain Platform

Samsung SDS, the IT unit of South Korean conglomerate Samsung, announced a tie-up with Indian technology firm Tech Mahindra on Nexledger blockchain platform. Under the deal, Tech Mahindra will offer Nexledger, which was launched in 2017 by Samsung SDS, in the markets in India and worldwide. The companies consider Blockchain as a strong focus area in 2019 and will leverage each other’s strengths in various geographies.

Bitcoin Depot Installs 30 Bitcoin ATMs In Chicago

Multi-cryptocurrency ATM Network Bitcoin Depot added 30 new Bitcoin ATM machines in Chicago, making it the city with the second largest BATM network in the US behind Los Angeles. The Atlanta based company said it decided to make the major expansion of Bitcoin ATMs seeing the increased demand in Chicago. No transaction fees will be levied for using bitcoin ATMs located in this region to encourage bitcoin adoption.
