Tron [TRX] should build on Mantis, fork off of it – Cardano [ADA]’s Charles Hoskinson
On 4th October, the science and engineering blockchain company InputOutput that was founded by Charles Hoskinson posted a podcast on Twitter. Here, Hoskinson spoke on several subjects, including his team extending a hand to projects such as Tron [TRX] and Ethereum [ETH] to work together.
The Founder was asked if he will be able to extend his hand to other projects. To this, Hoskinson replied by saying that he is happy to work with different parties if there is a point of working together. Speaking of Tron, he stated that the project forked Ethereum java.
Furthermore, he believes that while the engineers involved with the code were competent, the Ethereum java client is slightly outdated and is not essentially created from a technical dev or security perspective. He stated the client as “not the best code to build a project from”. Subsequently, Hoskinson implied that the code might require iterations and cleaning. In his words:
“It needs some iterations some cleaning… From where it came and how many people have touched it. So when we reached out to Tron we said look guys our Scala code base is just absolutely beautiful, it’s extremely concise, it’s well-tested. It’s been security audited by an external auditor.”
He also believes that if the Tron project wants to build a project by forking a code, the team can take the Mantis code. He stated that the code is modularized, henceforth, it possesses a pluggable virtual machine and a pluggable consensus protocol.
In his opinion, an open source software is for the members of the ecosystem to put forth recommendations and avoid potentially big mistakes when developers are making decisions and deciding the path. Hoskinson stated that it will make a lot of sense for Tron to build on Mantis by forking off of it.
